Your new company
For our client Schindler, one of the world's leading suppliers of elevators, escalators and moving walkways, based in Milan, we are looking for a R&D Embedded System Integration Tester.

Your new role
In this role, you will be part of our Milan Software Development Hub, an agile team that develops modern software tools to help shape the next-generation elevator’s software to meet high quality and safety standards for Schindler’s products.
As Embedded System Integration Tester you ensure quality of elevator controller software development by building and maintaining physical test infrastructure and further improve our systems by executing hardware and software related tests.

Your next challenges include:

  • Performing hardware and software integration tests of new PCBAs and assemblies at control system level and report necessary quality improvements by creating and maintaining integration test specifications;
  • Collaborating with team colleagues locally and remotely to design new functions and perform software integration, perform prototype testing and integration of embedded software components using state-of-the-art tools;
  • Supporting the maintenance and integration of existing and new components and investigating defects reported by testing to perform rapid problem soling;
  • Building up and maintaining the simulators infrastructure for testing and developing elevator control software and hardware, including appropriate documentation (schematics, drawings);
  • Keeping track of material and versions on simulators and carry out upgrades by ordering material and shipping equipment to other sites.

What do you need to have success
You are a self-directed and self-organized, highly responsible, and reliable team player. Your good analytical skills pair with your hands-on approach and open mind and for new technologies and agile development.

Further requirements may include:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Computer Science / or equivalent
  • Experience in maintenance and setup of hardware and software test benches
  • Experience working with installation and commissioning of electrical equipment, performing electrical measurements
  • Basic Linux and bash scripting knowledge, familiarity with Python scripting
  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art software engineering practices and development tools such as Git and JIRA is a plus
  • Proficient level of English is required. Italian and German are a plus
