Our Client, a world leader in industrial cooling systems and industrial plant engineering, is looking for a Category Buyer.

Your role
The candidate will be placed in the Supply Chain department, will report to the Purchasing Manager and will be responsible for the following activities:
• Purchase components, equipment, and services in line with customers specifications, incoterms defined and all relevant data input from Eng and Operations Depts.
• Market monitoring including scouting and intelligence on competitors supply is a master activity to be actuated worldwide to be as much as possible effective in the business
• Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement.
• Negotiate contracts, improved prices, and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.
• Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures during supplier negotiations and contracts award process.
• Assess tenders and quotations from potential suppliers.
• Prepare purchase orders in line with final negotiations with selected suppliers and in line with organizational targets and requirements.
• Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and ensure good communications.

What you need to have success
• Relevant business/commercial or manufacturing/engineering degree is preferred.
• Proven purchasing experience, preferably within industrial, power and oil & gas business.
• Contract management and supplier experience.
• SAP or similar ERP Skills.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Fluent in English.
